ImageOn the ridge between Fryup and Glazedale are two stones each 2 ft high, at a distance of 42 ft, and on one of them are the words HART LEAP – the stones were erected to commemorate the fact that a hart, when on the point of being seized by dogs, made a desperate but ineffectual effort to escape by bounding over the space marked out.
