The Captain Cook pub, located “over the border” in St Hilda’s, has been serving the people of Middlesbrough for 170 years. The final pints were pulled at the historic watering hole in Durham Street on June 30 2010. “Everybody’s devastated, so it was a really emotional day. Some of the lads have been coming here since they were nippers. They keep on saying ‘where are we going to go now?’ But there’s nothing round here any more.
